Captain Rex's AT-TE

Was looking through concept art from the Star Wars Rebels site and on the net in general and I came across some art for the modified AT-TE. I saw the episode and dug the look of it but didn't give it much thought. At Brickvention JK Bricks had a mini AT-TE walker and I briefly considered doing it in steampunk style but time and will were lacking. But the idea is still percolating. So here is a bit of an internet search dump...

So DJ BaLaLaWa has moced it here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/132005172@N03/sets/72157663113714471/

And lego have a set for it.
And there is a nifty animation here:

But I want to do it... Just like its steampunkiness and the colours... Another for the wishlist.

Rebel Tie Fighter Varients

I like to do obscure space ship lego builds. Two of these are from the Rebels - the Wolf and the Mining Guild Tie Fighter. I finished the wolf over a year ago and it was at Brickvention 2016 (the table next to me was empty so I put out some ships and small MOCs) but finally got around to adding custom stickers. The mining guild tie was also finished a few months back but I added stickers too. I made up a mining guild insignia but the sticker would not remove in one piece so I turfed it.

An ongoing theme of my lego builds has been mashups and I've done about 6 other tie fighter mashups (scooby doo, ghostbusters, dalek, steampunk, classic space and batman) but since this is a Rebels blog I won't bore you with them. You can see more images on flickr here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/78271818@N00/with/32342394505/

Oh dang the wings on the wolf are on backwards... oh well.

Vaders Castle / fortress on Mustafar

Next Lego MOC dream project is Vader's Castle on Mustafar. I'm stockpiling images (mainly concept art). Need to proper images from the film... I think its just two prongs on the top (wookipedia - http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Vader's_castle describes it as a tuning fork shape and mirrors the temple of the Kyber). It's on a squat sloping base with the sharply point tower atop. Lots of slopes, wedge plates and tiles in black needed. Dark blue grey cliffs. Orange lava. May mashup with minecraft... my kids like the nether.

Tempted to go more with concept art at this point.

This is a very handy link: https://www.instagram.com/cuppasketch/?hl=en

From Battlefront 2 promo. Let's hop the castle makes an appearance here.
